The West Jakarta Police arrested another suspect in relation to the death of Livia Pavita Soelistiyo, a Bina Nusantara (Binus) University student who was recently found dead in Tangerang.
According to West Jakarta police criminal investigation unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Ferdy Sambo, the captured suspect, who was identified by the initials MS, was the driver of the M24 microbus where the assault against Livia allegedly took place.
“He [MS] smothered and held the victim,” Ferdy said, as quoted by kompas.com on Saturday
Ferdy added that police would continue investigating another suspect in connection with Livia’s death. Police had previously arrested four people suspected of being involved in the case; RH, IN, SR and AB.
According to West Jakarta police chief Setija Junianta, police are still investigating whether or not Livia was also raped.
“We will check it again. We will confront the suspects, because they have not admitted it yet,” Setija said.
Livia reportedly went missing after she sat for an exam at her campus on Aug. 16. Her remains were found in Cisauk, Tangerang, on Aug. 21.
