Nia Ramadhani: No more learning the ropes

span class="inline inline-left">She may have kissed goodbye to the entertainment world that brought her fame but actress Nia Ramadhani confesses that there are times when, between her present role as a housewife and busy social activities, she misses it.

The 20-year-old, who has changed her name to Ramadhania Ardiansyah Bakri after marrying Ardi Bakrie -- third son of Golkar’s top politician Aburizal Bakrie – said, during a breaking the fast event, that she misses encounters with the press and her Twitter followers the most.

“Last year was my first Ramadhan as a wife and a daughter-in-law, so I was still learning. But, this year, I am more experienced.

Actually, I still want to work, but my job should be something that has a normal nine-to-five working schedule. So, I definitely cannot play in television soap operas since filming sometimes lasts until 4 a.m..

Ardi never says anything about me going back to the film industry, but I’ll be the one who feels embarrassed if I arrive home after him. Who will take care of him if I work such long hours?

I sincerely want to give more attention to my marriage because I do not want to see it fail. I hope I can be with him ‘till death do us part.

Currently, I am learning about business. I will definitely run a business that I like … I want to go to college but my husband says experience is more worthwhile. I will take it one step at a time. I am lucky to have a husband who can teach me about business.

When Ardi returns home, we usually spend time together and relax. For me, refreshing time means something if it is spent in good company. I don’t like to take walks alone. Neither do I like to go to a beauty salon for a treatment because I prefer to do it myself. We also don’t go to the cinema regularly. That’s why I don’t know much about the latest films.

I like spending my free time playing PlayStation with Ardi. We also like to just lie around and talk. Sometimes we watch DVDs together.

To me, clubbing is so last year. Ardi and I are not into clubbing anymore. Once, we attended a friend’s birthday party, which had a concept theme. We got sleepy and bored, so Ardi asked me to go home early. Maybe our clubbing days have passed.

I don’t have any particular place that I want to visit. Going on vacation will be a happy moment for me if I go with my family and Ardi’s family. So, the most important thing for me is the good company, not the place. However, we often have problems in arranging the time. Ardi is not a romantic kind of man, although when it comes to beautiful places, he knows better than I do.

I rarely spend time hanging out with my friends anymore. Most of my friends are busy with their shooting schedules, while others have married, too.

I understand many married women prioritize their families first. If I miss my friends, I will call them. I also still have my mother and my mother-in-law to share stories with.”
