Police mobile brigade detention head replaced

The National Police headquarters has decided to replace the head of the police’s mobile brigade detention center Comr. Basuki, with Comr. Christian Tanato, according to National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar. He said the replacement was part of the force’s routine.

“The replacement has nothing to do with rumors. It is purely part our force’s routine,” he said Tuesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Several days ago, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators found out that graft suspect Muhammad Nazaruddin had a BlackBerry phone in his cell, which is not allowed.

When asked for his comment, Comr. Basuki confirmed his replacement but denied the suspicion that the move was connected with the discovery of the BlackBerry in Nazaruddin’s possession.
