Tremor causes panic in Kupang

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Dili, Timor Leste, on Tuesday was felt as far as Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, causing panic among residents.
Yasinta, a Kupang resident, ran outside when she and her family felt the tremor.
"I immediately ran out of the house to save myself," she said.
An official at the Kupang Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, Margiona, said that the epicenter of the earthquake was 271 kilometers northeast of of Dili. The earthquake started around 2:57 p.m.
"The earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami," he added as reported by tempointeraktif.com.
There are no reports yet of damage caused by the tremor.
