Jakarta Police have announced that they will not implement the three-in-one road rule from Thursday to Sunday given that the Idul Fitri celebration has reduced traffic; however it will be reapplied on Monday.
“Three-in-one is used to decrease traffic congestion caused by a high volume of vehicles but as the traffic is clear then the rule is not being applied,” Jakarta Police traffic operation chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Latif Usman said Thursday as quoted by Kompas.com.
Usman said that on Monday the traffic was expected to return to normal.
Under the three-in-one system, motorists who use private vehicles must carry at least three people at specific times when entering certain zones in the capital such as; Jl. Sisingamangaraja, Jl. Jendral Sudirman, Jl. MH Thamrin, Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Jl. Majapahit, Jl. Gajah Mada and Jl. Pintu Besar Selatan.
