The West Jakarta Police have arrested another suspect related to the murder of Livia Pavita Soelistiyo, 21, a Bina Nusantara (Binus) University student.

“The suspect, Afri, is the one who [allegedly] raped the victim,” said West Jakarta police crime detective chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Ferdy Sambo said Friday as quoted by kompas.com.

Ferdy said that Afri was arrested on Tuesday evening in West Jakarta. “We will release detailed information on Monday,” he said.

Livia went missing after she sat for her thesis defense on campus at around 2 p.m. on Aug. 16.

A body found in a gutter in Cisauk, Tangerang, West Java on Aug. 21 was later identified as Livia; the only daughter of Yusni Chandra.

Based on the autopsy, Livia was strangled. There was also suspicion that the victim was raped as there were detriments in her genitals and semen found inside her body.

Police arrested four people suspected of being involved in the case last Friday: RH (24), IN (22), SR (52), and AB (18).

Police also arrested MS, who allegedly was the driver of the M24 mikrolet (public minivan) where Livia was killed.

Ferdy said that with the arrest of Afri the police had apprehended all suspects involved in the case.
