Chile air force plane with 21 aboard crashes

A local official says a Chilean air force plane has crashed in the Juan Fernandez islands off Chile's Pacific coast with 21 people aboard.
Juan Fernandez Mayor Leopoldo Gonzalez says popular Chilean television host Felipe Camiroaga was on board.
Gonzalez says the plane tried without success to land at the Juan Fernandez island airport, which is 830 kilometers (515 miles) from the country's coast.
The mayor said Friday that rescue boats are searching for the wreckage of the plane but so far they have only found some suitcases.
