The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) says that it will pursue the alleged role of the House of Representatives' budget commission in a bribery case that implicates two officials from the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry, and a businesswoman.

"We will follow up on all information and statements we obtain during our investigation," said KPK spokesman Johan Budi as quoted by tempointeraktif.com on Saturday.

"We are still gathering evidence to corroborate the allegations," he said.

The KPK has arrested three suspects in the alleged bribery case, namely: Dharnawati, a businesswoman from PT Alam Raya Jaya Papua, and two officials from the ministry, I Nyoman Suisnaya and Dadong Irbarelawan.

Along with the suspects, the KPK also confiscated Rp 1.5 billion (US$ 175,500), cellular phones and some documents.

Dharnawati's attorney, Farhat Abbas, said that the money was meant for Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar.

The money was allegedly linked to a tender worth Rp 500 billion to build transmigration infrastructure in 19 regencies.

According to Dharnawati, as quoted by Farhat, the ministry's officials said that they would require the company to channel 10 percent of the project value as a success fee to the House's budget commission, should the company win the tender.

The requested bribes for Muhaimin and the commission were mentioned in a short message service (SMS), communicated from the officials to Dharnawati upon their arrests.

"The SMS is now in the hands of KPK investigators," Farhat said.

The KPK is scheduled to question the three suspects on Monday. It also plans to summon Muhaimin for questioning.

"The KPK's investigation team will arrange the schedule [for Muhaimin's summons]," KPK deputy chairman, M. Jasin, said.
