The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) promised fairness in their probe of a bribery investigation implicating Manpower and Transmigration Minister Muhaimin Iskandar, two ministry officials and businesswoman Dharnawati.
The standing accusation states that through his men, Muhaimin allegedly accepted a Rp 1.5 billion (US$175,500) bribe from Dharnawati. The funds were reportedly intended for easing the procurement process involving infrastructure development projects worth state budget funds totaling Rp. 500 billion in 19 regencies.
KPK deputy chairman M. Jasin said that the commission would investigate everyone implicated in the case.
“The key is the items that can be used as evidence,” he said on Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.
“When firm evidence is obtained, the person will be legally processed,” he added.
He further said that the KPK would not excuse anyone.
“The KPK is an independent law enforcement institution that works professionally,” he said.
