Police have yet to charge two suspects involved in the murder of 21-year-old university student Livia Pavita Soelistiyo with rape, despite the suspects’ confession.

“We still need to look at results of the visum. Although we already have confessions from the suspects and witnesses, we still need proof in the form of the doctor’s information,” West Jakarta police crime detective chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Ferdy Sambo said Monday, as quoted by kompas.com.

In total, six men have been arrested in connection with Livia’s death.

Police believe that the suspects initially intended to rob the victim, but decided to rape her after she fell unconscious in an M-24 microbus.

Livia went missing after she sat for her thesis defense on campus at around 2 p.m. on Aug. 16.

Her body was found in a gutter in Cisauk, Tangerang, West Java on Aug. 21.
