The West Java branch of State-owned railway (PT KAI) Operation Division II has warned that passengers found without valid tickets will face stricter penalties, including removal from trains.

Division II spokesman Bambang Setyo Prayitno said the warning was issued in light of the high number of passengers found without tickets.

Bambang also affirmed that plans were in place to introduce stricter rules on tickets at stations this year.

“Passengers without tickets will be removed from trains,” Bambang said Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

“We have applied this regulation already on trains in Bandung and Tasikmalaya [West Java].”
