Honda CRV sales remains high during Ramadan, Idul Fitri

The marketing arm of Japanese carmaker Honda Motor Co.Ltd, PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) reports that it enjoys good sale of its sport utility vehicle Honda CRV during the fasting month of Ramadan and Idul Fitri despite shorter working days.
HPM marketing and after-sales service director Jonfis Fandy said that the sales of Honda CRV stood at 1,677 cars in August, a 33.5 percent jump from 1,256 in July. As of August, it sold a total of 7,850 CRVs.
"This sales is beyond our expectation. We saw good sales although we saw less working days in August due to the Idul Fitri holidays,” said Jonfis on Thursday as quoted by Antara newswire.
Jonfis said that its popular Honda Jazz hatchbacks remain the top selling product for the company as it accounts for 45 percent of the total sales. The company booked 2,077 units in sales last month to bring the total sales to 13,567 as of August.
In multi-purpose vehicle segment, Jonfis said that the company also sold 6,260 units of Freed car with 663 units in August alone. Meanwhile in premium class for MPV segment, it recorded nine units in sales last month. It sold 160 units as of August.
HPM also reported the sales of 111 units of City sedan in August to bring the total sales to 1,615 since January this year.
“Honda’s sedans, like Civic, booked nine units in sales in August. Per August, the sales of Civic sedan has reached 761 units. Meanwhile, it sold 54 units of premium Accord sedan in August to bring cumulative sales to 773 units as of August,” Jonfis said.
Overall, HPM booked a total sales of 31,407 as of August, with 4,600 units alone sold last month.
