Police still investigating Saipul Jamil accident

Purwakarta Police said that they had yet to determine the status of dangdut singer Saipul Jamil regarding the tragic death of his wife, who was killed in a traffic accident. Police, however, say their conclusions remain to be determined and are awaiting the results of the investigation.

“It all depends on the outcome of the investigation, which is still underway,” Purwakarta Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Bahtiar Ujang Purnama said Tuesday, as quoted by kompas.com.

He said that questions regarding Saipul’s status should be held until all evidence had been obtained.

“Let the investigators collect all the evidence first,” he said.

Relatives of Saipul had been questioned regarding the fatal accident, which occurred on Sept. 3.

Virginia, who was two months pregnant, died when her car, driven by Saipul, rolled after crashing into a road divider on the Cipularang toll road in West Java.
