JPJPA passenger, known only by her initials RSR, 27, was gang raped by four men on board an M24 minivan plying the Srengseng-Kebon Jeruk route, on Sept. 1. The rapists also stole her cell phones before dumping her on a quiet street.

The woman reported the incident to police but two weeks later on Tuesday evening she spotted one of the rapists, the minivan driver, and had him arrested with the help of a traffic police officer.

The story was told by South Jakarta traffic police deputy chief Comr. HM Sungkono on Wednesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

The woman, an office worker, was returning to her home in Pondok Gede, Bekasi. She took Kopaja P19 from Sudirman and got off in Cilandak, South Jakarta to change to another bus to take her to Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta at around midnight.

A minivan driver, later identified as Yogi, offered to take her to her destination.

"There are four suspects; the driver and three other men who were sitting in the back," Sungkono said.

RSR boarded the minivan and while in transit, the suspects; Yogi, Sebastian, Andri and Aris raped her after threatening to kill her if she resisted.

The minivan drove along Jl. TB Simatupang playing loud music and with the interior lights turned off.

"The suspects took turns to rape her," Sungkono said.

After finishing the brutal rape, the culprits told her to put on her clothes and stole three handphones from her before leaving her at the roadside near a Navy residential complex at 2 a.m.

RSR reported the incident at a nearby police station.

Two weeks later, on Tuesday at 8 p.m., RSR returning from her work saw Yogi driving his minivan in Cilandak.

"She called a duty traffic police officer who then arrested the suspect," Sungkono said.

Police seized the minivan as evidence.

"We are searching for the other three suspects. Detectives will follow up this case,"Sungkono said.
