KPK set to question Angelina Sondakh
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled on Thursday to question Democratic Party lawmaker Angelina Sondakh as a witness in an alleged bribery centered around a tender for a construction project for the upcoming SEA Games 2011.
Angelina, member of the House of Representatives’ budgetary body, will appear as a witness for fellow member and former Democratic Party treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin, a suspect in the case.
“[Angelina] will be questioned on Thursday,” KPK spokesman Johan Budi said Wednesday in Jakarta, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Earlier, Angelina said she was ready for questioning.
While avoiding investigation prior to his arrest in Columbia, Nazaruddin told a local TV station that several other members of the budgetary body also received bribes worth Rp 9 billion (approximately US$1 million) in total, including Angelina, another Democratic lawmaker Mirwan Amir, and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Wayan Koster.
