President Barack Obama is telling the people of Libya that the world will stand with them as they reshape their country following the fall of Moammar Qaddafi's regime.
In prepared remarks released ahead of Obama's speech at a United Nations meeting on Libya Tuesday morning, the president urges remaining Qaddafi loyalists to join the new Libya.
Obama cautions that there are still difficult days ahead. But he says the early success in Libya is an example of what the international community can accomplish when it stands together as one.
Obama is also announcing that the U.S. is sending its ambassador back to Tripoli to head a reopened U.S. embassy there.
