Amid public skepticism about the continuation of the investigation into the Bank Century bailout case, former Century owner Robert Tantular suddenly showed up at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday morning.
Robert arrived at the KPK building at 10:30 a.m and went directly inside without saying a word to journalists, as reported by tempointeraktif.com.
The KPK is still evaluating Century's bailout decision as it has repeatedly been said that there was no evidence of corrupt practices in the bailout, even though lawmakers had concluded there were numerous
incidents of mismanagement by the Finance Ministry and Bank Indonesia in disbursing the Rp 6.76 trillion (US$791.1 million) to the ailing bank in 2008.
To date, the KPK has yet to increase the status of the case for further investigation because, as yet, it lacks strong enough evidence to build the case, KPK's chairman Busyro Muqoddas said recently.
