At least 10 students from SMA 6 high school in Kebayoran Baru arrived at South Jakarta Police station on Wednesday to undergo questioning as part of a police inquiry linked to the alleged assaults on journalists in front of the school on Monday.
Reporters at the station didn’t notice their arrival, as they entered via a backdoor. The students were accompanied by nine representatives from the Indonesian Commission for Child Protection (KPAI).
“They have arrived and they used the backdoor,” South Jakarta Police spokesman Adj. Comr. Aswin said on Wednesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Aswin told journalists not to take any pictures of the students’ faces.
Students from SMA 6 high school allegedly assaulted several journalists from various media organizations, who were staging a protest against an earlier attack last week upon a television journalist, implicating students at the school in violence.
