JAKARTA: Courier company DHL Express Indonesia is upbeat that Indonesia still offers big potential despite the current crisis and possible aftereffects next year, chief technical advisor Ahmad Mohammad said Wednesday.
“Indonesia has huge potential, therefore we have to plan ahead because we believe the volume will grow in the next five years,” he told reporters.
“We are currently studying all the possibilities but nothing is final yet.”
Ahmad emphasized that Indonesia deserves increased investment and that he has to convince his superiors, as well as work with the authorities.
“The strategy is to make Indonesia well-placed for growth,” he added, hinting that he might propose bigger facilities and larger airplanes.
Currently, DHL uses a Boeing 727 with a capacity of 23 tons, linking regional hub Singapore with Jakarta, and a Boeing 737 with a capacity of 13.5 tons linking Singapore with Balikpapan.
