Magnitude-5.5 earthquake jolts Sumbawa
A magnitude-5.5 earthquake struck Sumbawa Island in West Nusa Tenggara early on Thursday morning, triggering no tsunamis.
The epicenter of the quake was 163 kilometers southeast of Sumbawa Besar regency, at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) says.
At the time of writing there were no reports of injuries or damage to buildings resulting from the quake.
