JAMBI: Amid pressures from politicians that have been mentioned as candidates for new ministers, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said Thursday that he has not been a casual decision to reshuffle the Cabinet.
“There is always pressure to do a reshuffle [in the past years] and I chose to ignore it,” he said.
“This is my choice and it does not mean that I am afraid or doubtful.”
The President also confirmed of his planned reshuffle by October, calling it a mid-term evaluation that would improve the government’s performance for the next three years.
He said that he would base the Cabinet shake-up on his ministers’ performance and integrity.
“I know many people want to be ministers. Many come to me directly and indirectly, but there are rules,” said Yudhoyono.
He also apologized if anyone disagreed with his choices.
