Wall props at Atlantis Water Adventure water park in the Ancol amusement park complex in North Jakarta reportedly collapsed on Sunday, injuring five visitors.

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol management denied earlier reports saying that slides in the water park had collapsed.

“No slides collapsed, but only decor on the walls at the side of a slide. A cement layer fell on the feet of a sliding visitor,” Pembangunan Jaya Ancol spokeswoman Metty Yan Harahap said Sunday in Jakarta.

Company secretary Budi Rochiyardi, however, said three adults and two children had been injured in the incident.

“They only have some scratches, but it wasn’t fatal,” Budi said, adding that some people had been brought to hospital.

“It’s only for checking; part of our services,” he said.

Budi said Ancol had been regularly checking and maintaining all rides and buildings inside the park complex.

“However, perhaps some parts had been left undetected,” Budi said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
