Text your say: Imminent Cabinet reshuffle
| Mon, 09/26/2011 9:07 PM
Your comment on President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who has dropped hints
that he may reshuffle the Cabinet amid corruption cases plaguing some
ministries, and criticism against some others for their below-par
performance:
It’s his job to evaluate and also his job to replace those who are not performing as expected.
Nothing extraordinary as it is in the business world.

The Law and Human Rights Ministry might be “evaluated”. That’s my prediction.

So what? His Cabinet won’t go anywhere better.

The plan to reshuffle the President SBY’s second-term Cabinet is now almost too late, because the performance of ministers actually could already be seen after 100 days in office.
I do not believe that the reshuffle would materialize because from the beginning, the Cabinet was formed just based on political interests. To reshuffle the Cabinet not only needs courage but also has to take into consideration its impacts on political stability.
Therefore, ministers who are not capable, have no integrity and corrupt should be willing to resign, so that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono can appoint the right persons for the right positions.

Only change is constant, my comment on reports that President SBY might reshuffle the Cabinet.

Tragedy after tragedy has stricken SBY’s Cabinet several times. What’s wrong with it? I personally agree with the statement: “this country belongs to the political parties, not the people”.
Pak SBY must be able to prove that we are still living in the Unitary State of Indonesia, not in the Republic of Political Parties. Prove that all the ministries of the Cabinet are clean! If the reshuffle is urgent, why not?

Reshuffle the Cabinet? Better reshuffle Albertina Ho and others first and secure “peace” for the rest of the 3 years in power.

Ministers should be professional appointees; not on political assignments. Remember this: “Garbage-in, garbage-out!”

“Wait and see” is the problem. SBY is wasting our time.

More government hot air. Nothing effective will be done

I don’t think a reshuffle will help much in so far as that such a plan would only be done as a political stunt. We need a brave minister...

The hilarity of a possible Cabinet shakeup seems to be dramatized so as to build an impression and image that such a move would be considered an achievement of SBY’s.
People should still be well-aware that such a move (Cabinet member change) is a sign that SBY fails to lead his working team. Blaming the failure on the team member(s) is much easier than blaming himself.
The media should also not “encourage” that this possible reshuffle would be an achievement of SBY’s.
