A staffer of Bone Youth and Sports Affairs Agency, South Sulawesi, found a toddler displaying signs of abuse, deserted at Watampoe Soccer Stadium, on Wednesday.
"I found the child crying near the stadium. Initially, she did not want to come with me on my motorcycle," said Warna, who found the young girl on his way to work.
He added that he had informed the local police and social service agencies of the lost child who was carrying no form of identification.
Doctors at Watampoe public clinic found signs of physical abuse to the child who they said seemed depressed. However, the child had apparently not been sexually abused.
The child has been handed over to Bone Social Services Agency.
"[We have] no information on the origin of the child or the names of the child's parents. She looked hungry and tired," Bone social aid chief Amrullah said as reported by kompas.com.
