Gadjah Mada University (UGM), claimed to be the oldest in the country, has vowed to submit 1,000 of its student creative project proposals to student competitions in 2012, up from 936 sent out this year.
“We feel challenged to reach this target because we’ve produced fewer proposals than other universities this year,” UGM director of students affairs Haryanto said Friday as quoted by Antaranews.com.
He said, however, that 39 out of the 936 proposals submitted this year that had reached the Student National Science Week XXIV’s main stages in Makassar, South Sulawesi, were dominated by proposals from UGM.
Haryanto said that UGM had finally managed to win first prize for its proposals this year, and vowed to repeat the feat next year.
