House budget committee deputy chief Tamsil Linrung denied that he had asked for a five percent fee from the state budget for the Manpower and Transmigration Ministry, as alleged by graft suspect Dharnawati.
“I have never met Dharnawati, nor have I ever made any contact with her in my life. Thus, how can it be possible that I asked anything from her,” Tamsil said Saturday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
During questioning Dharnawati told Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators that she had been asked by Sindu Malik Pribadi and Iskandar Pasajo, two other witnesses in the case, to provide a 10 percent commitment fee, of which five percent would be given to Tamsil Linrung for his influence as a House budget official.
Dharnawati was a local businesswoman in Papua who had attempted to place her bid in a state infrastructure project in the region. She was arrested by KPK detectives along with Dadong Irbarelawan and I Nyoman Suisnaya, two ministry officials charged with bribery who are now presently in KPK custody
