Judges at the Tangerang District Court are scheduled to hand down their verdict in a passport forgery case involving former tax officer and graft convict Gayus H. Tambunan.

"Based on the judges' decision, the verdict will be read out on October 4, 2011," Gayus' attorney Monang Sagala said as reported by tribunnews.com.

Earlier, prosecutors demanded judges hand down three years' imprisonment to Gayus for his alleged forging a passport carrying the name of Sonny Laksono, in violation of the 1992 Law on Immigration.

Gayus allegedly paid US citizen John Jerome Grice US$20,000 for the forged passport, which he used to travel abroad after he slipped out of detention.
