Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu is scheduled to meet Indian Trade Minister Anand Sharma on Tuesday to sign a trade agreement.

India is currently a strategic trade partner for Indonesia, given its status as Indonesia's the second-largest export market after China.

"In terms of the size of its population, India has become an interesting market for our exporters," deputy trade minister Mahendra Siregar said Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

Mahendra added that the agenda for Tuesday agenda was to hold a routine two-yearly trade meeting.

Trade between Indonesia and India reached US$13.3 billion in 2010 and is targeted to reach US$25 billion next year.
