Water, food crises affecting Way Kambas
Way Kambas National Park (TNWK) in Lampung is suffering from water shortages as a result of the  prolonged dry season this year, threatening the lives of animals in the park.
“Most of the water sources in TNWK are dry, and the wild animals are having difficulties finding water in the forests,” park spokesman Sukatmoko said Tuesday in East Lampung.
He added the forests were also showing signs of the drought, with foliage on trees and grasses drying out, threatening many animals’ food sources.
Sukatmoko said he feared that animals would leave the park area and enter surrounding farms in search of food, Antara reported.
