KPK has no courage to arrest VP: PKS politician

Prosperous Justice Party politician Fahri Hamzah said on Thursday that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had no courage to arrest Vice President Boediono over the Bank Century bailout case.
“The KPK should monitor, supervise and strengthen other institutions. If there are big [graft] cases, the commission should take over the cases. But now, it mostly arrests project leaders and regents; it has no courage to arrest Boediono over the Bank Century bailout case,” he said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Boediono was the governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) when BI and the Finance Ministry decided to bail out the ailing Bank Century in 2008 as part of its efforts to prevent the world financial crisis from hitting Indonesia’s banking system. Legislators claimed there were some violations in the bailout decision.
