Letter: Chelsea’s success

Chelsea was successful in trumping Bolton Wanderers in Reebok Stadium last Sunday due to two of its players, Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard, who succeeded in securing three points for their club.
Sturridge scored two goals in the second and 25th minutes, while Lampard, who despite severe criticism from some who have stated that he’s lost his touch and that he should be dropped from the England national soccer squad, proved that he’s still got what it takes by scoring three goals in the 15th, 27th and 58th minutes. Bolton Wanderers, on the other hand, were able to somewhat minimize the defeat with the scoring of one goal in the 46th minute by Dedryk Boyota.
For Sturridge, those two goals were hard evidence of his professionalism for Chelsea, the team that lent him out to Bolton Wanderers last season, and due to his stellar performance – he performed 12 times for Wanderers and scored eight goals – Chelsea doesn’t want to let go of him this season.
Therefore, with the final result of 5-1 against Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea has been able to position itself at number three in the Premier League, with 16 points in classification – the position that was occupied by Newcastle United, but which dropped one point behind Chelsea based on its scores. With its current standing, Chelsea is only three points away from Manchester United’s 19 points at number two in classification.
This 5-1 victory is the fifth win in seven Premier League games for Chelsea and it’s also the biggest win this season in terms of goal differential, to boot.
For Bolton Wanderers, on the other hand, this defeat only prolongs its under-achieving performance this season, leaving Owen Coyle’s squad buried deep at the bottom of the league table with only three points.
