The head of the Al Zaitun Islamic boarding school, Panji Gumilang, who has been charged with alleged document fraud, is expected to face trial shortly, a prosecutor said.
“We have completed our questioning and examination of Panji and we are ready to move to the next stage,” Attorney General’s Office (AGO) spokesman Noor Rahmad said Thursday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He added that the prosecutors had prepared multiple charges against the school head.
Panji Gumilang, who is also suspected to be the leader of the Indonesia Islamic Movement (NII), was reported by one of his former close aides, Imam Supriyanto, to the police over allegations of faking the organization’s establishment document.(awd)
