Second Bekasi Jazz Festival to be kicked off this weekend

The Bekasi Jazz Festival is set to be held for the second time at Bekasi Square shopping mall from October 8 to 9.

The biggest jazz event in the region will feature both national and international jazz figures. Names such as the YJC Project, Tribute to Legend, Indro Hardjodikoro and The Fingers, Galaxy Big Band (Japan), Ireng Maulana, Yovie Widianto Fusion are among the expected performers.

While some foreign bands including the Logic featuring Sweet Voice (Australia) and the MYMP (The Philippines) will also perform at the event.

The two-day event will be closed by the performance of the country’s maestro Benny Likumahuwa Project.

As many as four stages are prepared for the festival; two main stages at the rooftop of Bekasi Square, one stage at the atrium and one stage at the gate.

“Those musicians will being to perform at 3:30 p.m through 12:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday,” Bekasi Jazz Festival executive director Yoyok CR said Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
