Twenty-seven Chinese workers set to work on the Pelabuhan Ratu steam power station project have been deported for not having work permits.

“Their deadline to leave the country was Oct. 7. However due to a limited number of plane tickets, we had to send them home in different groups, one at the time,” Sukabumi immigration officie spokesman office Ketut Arief said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.

Officials deported four of the Chinese workers on Sept. 30, five on Oct.5 and 10 on Oct 6. “The last group comprised of the rest will depart on Saturday and Sunday, respectively," he said.

PT Shanghai Electric Corporation will cover the expenses of the workers as their main sponsor.
