The 10-year US presence in Afghanistan has led to nothing other the dispatching of body bags back home. People of the lone world superpower question its military and political leadership. They ask what is the objective of this war, and if there was ever an objective begin with? What are the US and its allies doing by staying in Afghanistan if they can’t subdue the Taliban? This is a good letter including some great questions. I was just discussing this with my father. I’ve asked quite a few people and their answers are pretty much split into those that say “Wipe out terrorism” and those that say “I don’t know.” Either option is just ridiculous. All the players in this war should ask themselves the same questions.
