National soccer team coach Wim Rijsbergen praised the national team for its perseverance during last night's match against Qatar, despite the fact that Qatar won the game 3-2.
“We showed more characteristic play last night even though, I must admit, it didn’t bring us a win in last night's game,” Wim said Tuesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He also acknowledged that the team had not been at its best since it had to employ several players who had just recovered from illnesses, namely Firman Utina, Hamka Hamzah and M. Roby.
“This is still not a good excuse, but hopefully we learn something from this,” he said.
Wim also said that after the loss Indonesia had a tough task to make it to the World Cup. It would need to win the remaining three World Cup qualifier games, he said.
“But we still have time and we will do our best to prove that it is [not impossible],” he said.
