Jakarta adm to check resident IDs

A Jakarta administration official announced on Tuesday that the administration plans to conduct regular inspections of residents' documents.
Under the Yustisia Operation, local government officers will visit target areas to check whether the residents have permission to reside in Jakarta.
“Those who violate the rules will face ad hoc trials and will be fined,” Purba Hutapea of Jakarta administration said as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that the operation would commence on Thursday. Purba said the administration's officers had targeted areas that had many boarding houses because there were usually many visitors in such areas.
More than 600 people were found guilty of not to have Jakarta ID cards during raids last month, shortly after the Ramadhan holiday season.
