Taiwan’s Trade and Economy Representative Office in Indonesia plans to open a training center for nurses and caregivers in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
The plan was delivered during a coordination meeting with West Nusa Tenggara’s Deputy Governor Badrul Munir in Central Lombok on Wednesday.
“Graduates of the training center will be placed in Taiwan, Japan and other countries as professional workers,” Andrew Hsia from Taiwan’s Trade and Economy Representative Office said Wednesday, as quoted by Antara news wire.
The office initially planned to establish an international hospital along with a health education institution, but the plan was hampered by a moratorium on health education institutions in Indonesia. Therefore, it converted the plan to a nurse-training center.
Deputy Governor Badrul said the administration will provide up to 20 hectares of land in Mandalika for the development of the training center.
