Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa on Thursday said the Indonesian economy was in good shape, denying speculation that investors were apprehensive about the coming Cabinet reshuffle.
Earlier, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono instructed his ministers not to make any strategic decisions before the Cabinet reshuffle, a move observers said may have put the investment climate in jeopardy.
“The economy is good and we have nothing to worry about. The [instruction] won’t create any negativity in our investment climate,” Hatta said Wednesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He denied speculation that the instruction had made investors postpone planned investments in Indonesia.
“We face no-wait-and-see situation here. Everything is running as planned and we are now facing a good economic situation,” he said.
