Golkar Party lawmaker, Bambang Soesatyo, has announced that the House of Representatives' judicial commission has approved the proposal to increase the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) budget from its current level of Rp 575 billion, to Rp 635 billion next year.
“As a result, the KPK will be given a Rp 736 million budget to conduct investigations, prosecutions and trial sessions per case. This is a significant increase from today’s figure of Rp 400 million,” Soesatyo said on Friday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He said that up until now, the KPK has been entrusted with the largest budget for investigations, compared with its law enforcement counterparts, namely the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO), which received Rp 37.8 million per case and Rp 48.6 million per case respectively.
