Yogyakarta Police have announced that last week's automated teller machine (ATM) blast wasn’t just another robbery attempt but likely related to terrorism.

“At first, we thought it was just another robbery attempt but then, after several days of investigation, we concluded that the attack was likely carried out by terrorists,” Yogyakarta police spokeswoman Adj. Sr. Comr. Anny Pudjiastuti said on Friday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Up until now, the police have arrested two people identified only as B.I. and R.R.. Anny said these people are believed to be among those who orchestrated the blast. She added B.I., who works as a graphic designer, was the one who made the flyers encouraging people to fight capitalism, while R.R., who works as a translator, was tasked with monitoring the blast.

The police are still pursuing another suspect identified only as K.I., as he was the one who planted the bomb inside the ATM booth.
