Muhammadiyah, Indonesia’s second-largest Muslim organization, has announced that Idul Adha, the day of sacrifice, will be observed on Nov. 6.
“We will enter the month of Dzulhujjah on Oct. 28, which means that the 10th Dzulhijjah, the day of sacrifice, will fall on Nov. 6,” East Java Muhammadiyah regional secretary Nadjib Hamid said on Wednesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Idul Adha, similar to Idul Fitri or Eid Mubarak for some, has frequently been observed in Indonesia on different days due to various methods of calculation.
While Muhammadiyah has been determined, the Nahdlatul Ulama, the country's largest Muslim organization, announced that it would start counting on October 27 to determine Idul Adha.
