State railway operator PT KAI plans to provide 15 air-conditioned buses to assist in the transportation of travelers using its Jakarta-Bogor line, which is undergoing necessary track work on Wednesday.

However, Bogor station chief Rochman said there were currently only seven of the buses available.

“Three of the buses are serving as shuttle buses from Gambir station to the Sudirman area,” he said Wednesday as quoted by kompas.com.

He added the travelers hoping to use the bus services would have to pay Rp 10,000 (US$1.13), which is slightly more expensive than the Jakarta-Bogor electric train (KRL) commuter service, tickets for which cost Rp 7,000.

Earlier, PT KAI said it had canceled more than 29 scheduled train services starting from Wednesday until Nov. 29, to accomodate an upgrade of three electrical substations along the line.
