Former Constitutional Court official Masyhuri Hasan is due to appear for his first trial hearing related to an alleged election document forgery, at Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday.
“The hearing is set to begin at 12 noon and we are going to hear the prosecutors read out the indictment,” Masyhuri’s lawyer, Edwin Partogi, said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
Masyhuri, together with another former Constitutional Court official, Zainal Arifin, are suspected to have been involved in the forgery of a Constitutional Court letter that ruled on a 2009 election dispute over a House of Representative seat.
Vying for the seat was the People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) candidate Dewie Yasin Limpo and the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) candidate Mestariyani Habie.
