No ministries? Not an insult: PKS

A- A A+

After the discharge of one of its members as minister, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) says that even if all its ministers were ousted, it would not be insulted.

“Not having a post is not an insult for the PKS,” party lawmaker Aus Hidayat said on Friday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

He said that ministerial posts were not an obsession of the party’s and he was convinced that not being in the cabinet would in fact make it even bigger and stronger.

However, he could not specify what the party’s move would be in regards to the coalition.

“PKS has to wait for a decision from the consultative body (majelis syuro). But a post is not an honor,” he said.

The party’s executive board member, Refrizal, earlier revealed that a lot of its membership and management had urged that PKS pull out of the coalition because they felt that the President had violated a contract signed with party senior politician Hilmi Aminuddin.
