National Border Management Agency secretary-general Sutrisno said that 18 ministries under the agency’s coordination would allocate Rp 2.8 trillion (US$316.4 million), an increase of around 2,000 percent from this year’s budget of Rp 149 billion, to boost border development.
“We will focus on building the border infrastructure and health facilities,” Sutrisno said on Friday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
He said the agency would also cooperate with regency administrations located near the border areas to build the infrastructure.
The statement was made following a recent border controversy regarding West Kalimantan where several Indonesian border stones were taken by erosion.
