Some 83 Indonesian companies plan to attend the 8th China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning Guangxi, China, from Oct.21-26 to promote tourism and investment opportunities in several provinces in Indonesia.
Trade Ministry export promotion and development director
Nuryati Lagoda said the plan was a follow-up to the result of the 7th ASEAN-China Summit in Bali in October 2003.
“In the framework of economic cooperation with the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA), all 10 ASEAN countries and China have agreed to further strengthen economic cooperation, especially in trade and investment relations,” Nuryati said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.
Nuryati said the ACFTA was beneficial to both Indonesia
and China, citing how total bilateral trade has grown by 36.9 percent during the first semester of this year compared to the same period last year.
