BI provides online banking for govt

Bank Indonesia says it has come up with an online banking facility for government offices.
“As the government’s bankers, we have provided a system for them: Bank Indonesia Government Electronic Banking [BIG-eB],” BI accounting and payment systems chief Ronald Waas said on Saturday as quoted by kompas.com.
Ronald said the central bank’s biggest customer was the Finance Ministry, which comprised 90 percent of the government’s accounts at Bank Indonesia.
The system would be more efficient for the government, Ronald said, as officials would not need to visit BI offices to complete transactions.
