An international antigraft conference in Morocco, solely sponsored by the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), recently appointed Indonesian Ambassador to Austria I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja to be its vice president, aiding its Moroccan president.

Akbar Nugraha, a member of Indonesian delegation said Wesaja would serve at upcoming plenary sessions for the five-day conference that began Monday.

"Wesaka will represent Asian countries at this conference," Akbar said Wednesday as quoted by Antara state news wire.

At least 1,000 delegates from 129 countries, including government, NGO and private sector representatives and journalists are attending the conference.

The conference was convened among efforts to discuss corruption mitigation strategies, technical assistance and international cooperation among UNCAC members to return stolen assets that have been taken abroad.
