Teen hit by Transjakarta bus in E. Jakarta

A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a Transjakarta bus on Jalan Otista in East Jakarta, police say.

“The exact location [of the collision] was next to Tanjung Lengkong bus shelter,” East Jakarta Traffic Police chief Sr. Comr. Sudarsono said Tuesday as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

According to information from his officers, Sudarsono said the boy, Rian, had been attempting to cross the road at around 8 a.m., and had not seen the oncoming bus serving the Rambutan-Kampung Melayu route.

Rian was still conscious after the impact, Sudarsono said, adding that he had complained of pains in his chest.

"Rian has been taken to the Premiere Hospital in Jatinegara, East Jakarta,” he said.

Meanwhile, the bus driver has been taken to Pancoran to be questioned by Jakarta Traffic Police.
